Curvature-Based Refinement

Curvature-based refinement allows a single parameter to be used (that can be applied either locally to globally) to control how well the mesh matches the geometry of the model.

Turning on curvature-based refinement causes the mesh to be refined proportionally to the local curvature of each model edge and face. The amount of refinement can be easily controlled.

The mesh on the right is a coarse mesh with no curvature-based refinement. The two meshes below show the same global size setting with the addition of curvature-refinement at two different settings (0.1 on the left and 0.05 on the right).

To avoid overrefinement in areas of high curvature, a limit on the smallest element that will be generated due to curvature refinement can be specified.
